Wednesday 20 March: Visit to ‘Unforgotten Lives’ exhibition at London Metropolitan Archives, 40 Northampton Road, London EC1R OHB. The nearest tube is Farrington, which I have been advised is a 10 minute walk.
The archive and exhibition are free entry, as is the curator talk by Claire Titley at 17:00. Private research in their wonderful archives is available from 10 am to 7 pm on Wednesdays. You do not need to book into the archive but you can pre-order archive material in advance. On site material should be available an hour after ordering, unless it is currently being digitised. You can search their archives at https://search.lma.gov.uk
We plan to go out for a group snack meal at ‘Caravan’ a Kiwi run restaurant in Exmouth Market, after the talk. This is just a 4 minute walk from the archive and was suggested by the exhibition curator, Claire Titley. You can investigate the menu online on their website https://caravanandco.com. Please let me know is you plan to join us as it is a popular restaurant and I will need to book.
Please email Trudie Messent URGENTLY putting ‘Archive visit’ in subject line, via wsgworkshop@gmail.com as Trudie needs to know numbers & if you plan to join us for a drink/meal later.

2023 Outing
The 2023 Summer outing to the Queen’s Gallery Exhibition ‘Style & Society: Dressing the Georgians’ was on Thursday 1 June 2023
Many thanks to all the WSG members who attended, including a number who travelled considerable distances, including from Scotland and Hawaii.
Members were welcomed into the Gallery’s beautiful Redgrave room for tea and coffee, served in translucent porcelain cups, photographed by a number of participants. (Images welcome)
We were very fortunate in that the exclusive introductory talk that we had booked, was given by the exhibition curator, who was very impressive in her knowledge and enthusiasm. The group was then able to pick up an audio self guide and explore the exhibition at their leisure. Trudie Messent (Organiser)
